The invitation simple read
"Your presence is requested"
Followed by a date and time
And "come as you are"

Curious I did attend
and found to my surprise
an eclectic mix of relatives
waiting at the door

Does anyone know why we're here
that question was bandied about
but no one had an answer
just more questions

And then there came the music
as if from a thousnad birds
the door there slowly opened
and we entered...awed

In front of us stood an altar
covered in flowers so sweet
and there stood that man, that monkey
the one none of us liked

The preacher was there as well
and he fixed us all at a glance
"take your seats please"
was all that he said

Then music...her music...came floating
and with it her delicate step
and her smile was radiant sunbeams
her eyes fixed on that man

She turned when she reached that altar
and let her eyes drift over our faces
I knew you wouldnt come any other way
but you're here now wont you please stay

And she married that monkey that day
in front of us who wouldnt accept
the love she so clearly felt
for that monkey, that man, that day.

We all learned a lesson in love
and in faith of a heart we all knew
she still loves that man just as deeply
as the day she made monkeys of us.

I was so relieved to read that the maid and the monkey lived happily ever after! I like happy endings ~ or should I say "beginnings"! lol

Loved the title just had to read. Cute one.
About love and the beauty the lady had seen in this man that no other did see.
Thanks most kindly for sharing.
