Roses grew out side the window
I remember the scent
Drifting in from the garden
Stuck seated on the sofa

You know it is not you
I couldnt fault you ever
You spoke in words
So distant unimportant
Their meaning seemed

In a day dream smelling roses
I sat unable to snap out
Of my conscious
Mixed babble overflowing your lips

Motionless not moving
It seemed liked hours went past
In minutes
That turned into seconds

A voice incased in a body
Unable to escape to respond
To your speach of seperation
I sat

One moment I could see you
Over there on the other chair
Telling me your hearts feelings
Next you vanished
gone

Like a great magician
Preforming a trick
Not noticed not seen
Removed from sight

I stood up
The scent of roses
No longer
Neither you

"Dont cry because its over, smile because it happened. "

Dear Whiskey, I suppose it is time to plant a garden of gardenias! Some say the scent is even sweeter!

always nice to read your words, Julie,

I really enjoyed this write. I could feel the words and went with every feeling.  I like your style. Can't wait to read the next one.
