Between the Lines

Four Days Of...

I walked the shoreline, remembering those friends
that hold me up, missing still others
that have passed their time
and feel the gentle breezes flowing,
my hair in wisps and my manner child-like.

I walked my lifeline, seeing what was,
and in the distant mist looking for you.
Wondering if we would ever meet this way,
my fantasy in real, the ocean waves licking at our feet
and a warm hand in mine.

I need no pictures to remind me,
for one touch holds a lifetime,
much more than words, the passion in my heart
and all that has happened in my yesterdays
has added a depth to my world
where it counts.

So I breathe deeply and reflect knowing
you are there, here in my always,
each and every one of you...

Maureen,  this is by far one of your best
writes.  It has so much depth, feelings
and emotions wrapped within it...a poem
that one does not easily forget...for it
carries within it that which many of us
have experienced as well.

Just too beautiful for words.

Agree, agree, agree.

Susan

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
