Gazing at a recent night time nature canvas,
exploded with zillions of sparkling stars
splashed brilliantly on a cobalt-to-ebony sky,
I had to wonder why You made it so.

Why make the skyview so vast
that only an ethereal dreamer
could fathom the depths of this ocean of stars?
Even Mars' magical moments rarely give us a handle
on the Dipper’s possibilities.

Beneath all that glitters above
lies a myriad of golden opportunities,
chances to dream and wonder,
perchance to set one's self free
from the weighty gravity of Terra Firma.

Tonight, I shall stand underneath
this Copernican canopy,
and dream of what can be.

Kacy, this is exquisite. It makes me thinks of nights upon the mountain when the world was dark but for the sky, shimmering as diamonds on black velvet. Thanks for the sweet memory.
