Trimming edges off nightmares
Waving white flags
Sophomore visions cutting through bars
Stepping into the bloodstream of genetic pools
Of a lifetime of practice
Quirky mannerisms and city lights
Strolls the city, facing away from aging footholds
On a course of least resistance
With fingers signing truces

There is a splendor to the confidence of lost soil
An aristocracy of musing influenced beauty
Where lives the sweet perfume of gardenia
With a self effacing drawl, seductive, reissued
Like the elegant vulnerability of
Wind tilted summer wheat…
The institute of choice
Becomes one’s definition

An astute expression, kind product of artistry
Murderous powers of passion
Dripping down the chins of youth, reality its memory
Frozen into absolute stillness….

Surgically implanting white thatched hair
Symmetry and charms that shudder
Heritage of exquisite long stem roses
Long denied access to this alloy of wealth
Motifs of American Experience...

Never-the-less....
One cannot give what one has never known
