Exhaustion makes me silly,
Sometimes it drives me mad!
One minute I'm hysterical,
Then I'm crying 'cause I'm sad.

I make no sense when tired,
Puffed eyes, they cannot see.
I don't even look myself,
And no one knows it's me!

I slip into hidden places,
In my convoluted mind,
Not knowing what may lurk there,
Or what treasure I will find.

All barriers just vanish,
Nothing impedes my flow of thoughts.
They gush from me like Niagara,
When I've pulled out all the stops!

I spill bold words uncensored,
I shoot straight from my hips.
I never know what I will say,
From my flip-flappin' lips!

Fatigue can change my manner,
And the way I view the world,
When my patience flies out the window,
I become a WILD girl!

Perhaps I need some shut-eye,
To regain some propriety,
Because sleep deprivation,
Has stolen my sobriety!

Woman, there are times, when you write things like this, that I feel as if somehow we were split from the same soul.  Feeling heavy lids today.  My, my, I wonder what I shall say?  Tee-hee.

Love ya -- susan

Susan ~

Might I say the same thing about your writes as well!!

Perhaps some cucumber slices will get rid of the puffiness under our eyes from the lack of sleep! lol

I need to be asleep to do my night travelling! Perhaps you could join me ~ after we each have a nice cup of Chamomile tea!

Sleepy hugs,
Linda

Being silly is good for the heart!  Even if you are sleepy too.
Enjoyed this write.

p s ~

I don't usually require very much sleep, but lately I seem to be needing more ~ and not getting it! Then I get all silly and discombobulated and call everybody by the wrong name! ~ and that has gotten me into a lot of trouble!!!

Tonight I will follow the advice I give to everybody else who has insomnia! That should do the trick and I'll retire this Silly Milly until the next time my halo slips! lol

Ceinwyn ~

lol You're not conceited, Kris! One of my poems was inspired by you and I bet you know which one that was! lol

Sorry to hear that you can identify with this insomniacal piece! May you sleep like a contented baby this night!

iliana ~

I pulled an all-nighter on Saturday! Like you, when I'm absorbed in a project, I lose all track of time! We should be better to ourselves!

I love the peace and solitude of the night ~ but I love a bright, sunny day as well. I burn the candle at both ends and it usually doesn't affect me ~ but this week it has!

Loveya lily gal!

My oh my, do I know the woe in this verse. I'm blind, insane, and rabid when over exhausted. Just let me find a little corner to curl up in, and I'm fine in a bit. Perfect rhyme poetess. It's hard being a total woman.

Sincerely,
Reg

(angel hugs) Awwwwwwww, I do believe sleep is important as the amount of sleep seems to relate to how our mood is going to be, and I usually stay up late every other night writing songs but make an effort to get good sleep between it all! (smiles) Yay, now take a siesta, sleepy head, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Noah ~

I usually do not require much sleep, but there are times when I get less than usual and I get behind. This poem is about those times! lol

Sleep well tonight my friend!
