Cleopatra's Risen

This glacial existence doth cleave my heart,
and "solitude," forsakes me. Gift me she...
my Sahara. Let lips be scorched for her
kiss...for I'm but the culmination of

desire. Indifference I know thee not.
I am wedded to the wilderness of
the badlands and I avow thou shouldest
look to the Nile, Cleopatra's risen.

Yea the tide of Egypt flows again; save
in the old songs we called her Iteru.
The Greeks they speak of Styx...yet what can they
ascertain? That chilled liquid that mizzles

down from sheer crag, and is but one offshoot
of the Okeanos defies recounting.
All ramble away from that hallowed flow.
Through the nightmarish obscurity of

the sphere it channels, and this runnel is
but a tenth part of all. Corkscrewing in
scintillating waters, the eternal,
primeval inlet of Styx encloses

the earth and the sea's broad parapets. Let
immorality be tumbled into
these brackish waters, but this streamlet, this
lifeblood which acutely vexes the gods,

runs ceaselessly from precipice and roars
into the imperishable. 'Tis here
I will find her, and when I do I will
know her to be my hearts' true ecstasy.

What is love but a waiting for wholeness?
What is a tributary but one stream
of the sum? To thee I flow…cascading
towards the dulcet timbre of your kiss.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

You work perfectly with my favorite poet. I hear there is a duo in the future, yes?
