+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+
Once upon a rainy morning,
I lazed in bed and read,
Tales of lost magic kingdoms,
~ Mystic trails I once had tread.

Enchanting lands of crystal castles,
Bewitching folks of faery realms,
Of Merlin magic and wisdom sages,
Where spells were spun 'neath ancient elms.

Chivalrous knights were full of valor,
Their hearts beat brave and strong,
Saving maidens from snorting dragons,
And righting things gone wrong.

Fair princes doled out gold and riches,
To those who were in need.
The mighty kings were kind and gentle,
Who ruled with love ~ not greed.

Lambs and lions lay down together,
All men were one in amity.
Peace did reign in lands of bounty,
Inspired homes of charity.

Trees reached up to touch the heavens,
Fresh air was rose perfumed,
Gardens grew from fertile soils,
And flowers forever bloomed.

Unicorns roamed magic woodlands,
With garlands in their manes.
Rainbows spanned cerulean skyscapes,
After gentle, cleansing rains.

Once upon a rainy morning,
I lazed in bed and read,
Tales of lost magic kingdoms,
~ Mystic trails I once had tread.

Miracles are still around us......and you wake up my perception with beautiful poems like this.  Did I tell you, in my tiny little yard, all kind of wonderful wild things have begun to grow.  This spring we had our frist crop of wild plums; then there started growing a wild tomato vine which has consumed about a four-foot patch and produces tiny marble sized tomatos--ummmm, nummy; then there was an old fashion wine colored rose vine which sprung up over night out my yellow rose bush root -- yields many, many beautiful buds; and now -- we have a wild bird pepper bush with itzy bitzy teenie weenie red peppers on it.  (Next year, I'm going to make a salsa you won't believe!)  I am still in utter awe of how this happened in my really little yard in the city where houses are only about 8-10 feet apart!!!!  Well....so much for my rambling.  I just was reminded of all those little miracles when I read your beautiful vision!  luv ya Earth Angel......the lily

Ah, chivalry, fantasy, magic, the world books give to us.  Aren't they wonderful?  And you captured their magic in this lovely poem.  Makes me want to go watch Robin Hood.  He's one of my favorites.

My boyfriend (actually he's a full-blown MAN) hails from Robin Hood's neck of the woods! I even call him Robin at times! lol

Enchanting reply, Lady Susan!

Ah, delightful tales are spun in books and from your hand.  Move over my friend, I'm sneaking in to rest with you. The realistic world is getting me down and I could use a dose of fantasy.

If only ... luv ya ... Marti

You have a boyfriend?  And a knightly one
at that....well done Linda,  and this write
was an exceptional depiction of a place we
all have in our dreams as we smile in
slumber,  feeling that perhaps we had once
been there....

I think I have,  and if not...this poem has
taken me about as close as one could
possibly get...

Your muse is in high gear lady....

Marti, My Darlin' Absent Sister Friend, it's great to hear from you! However, it saddens me to hear that the realistic world is getting you down.

I'll tell you what! I have a huge king-sized bed in the most charming bedchamber you could ever imagine!!! ~ and you and I and our muses, can rewrite present history! Our stories will be the fairy tales for future generations! Does not that sound like a divine plan!

I have the feathered quills, the parchment, and lots of dreamy, indigo magic ink!

I'll see you at the stroke of mid of nite.

What a lovely reply, y! Our minds can conjure up magical worlds that can take us temporarily away from things less pleasing!

Good to hear from you!
