Riptide

A riptide pulls at my side
It carries me a deeper bide
The current over powers stroke
It coverts me an anxious cloak

Some things we handle much with ease
Some things we handle with appease
Some things will rest within your head
And some will drag you out of bed

You cannot sidestep pressures mode
But somehow we adjust the load
To seek a balance of the wears
Weigh repent against declares

In either case we must adjust
For time is turning us to dust
And if you wish to stay abide
Do not swim against the tide

Sip the nectar of the hour
Take advantage of your dower.

Master Sy
the riptide is quite the force
will cover the one that resists
and will float with love
the one that goes beside

well penned sir

Yeah, but over the years I've learned, to go with it, rather then fight it, is like putting on a seat belt and going along for the ride.

absolutely!

In either case we must adjust
For time is turning us to dust

Do not swim against the tide

Maybe it's the ocean's way of teaching us How to swim?  Yes?

Sip the nectar of the hour
Take advantage of your dower.

believe me, I am...hey, by any chance do you listen to confessions? Just kidding, Sy, love your writes, they are indeed enlightening, thank you sweets

Great phrasing throughout, but I liked this the best.
"For time is turning us to dust
And if you wish to stay abide
Do not swim against the tide"

These lines bugle in my ears
I decry the passing years

Well done.  Ken

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light
