Saluting with misty eyes

I murdered a child today
That's what the protesters will say
With malice aforethought
I looked down the barrel
Slowly sqeezed the trigger
Time frozen Motion at half
I watched the explosion
Manual detonator released
Blood mixing with the dust
I looked in shock and pain
Slight damage to the school house
He attended the morning before

Marines saved thirty kids today
Something the news will never say
At risk to their own lives
Marines guarding the school
Rounds in-bound, downrange as well
Quick defense Terror Attack
Marines clearing the way to safety
Pulling children to freedom to beathe again
Providing them care
Marines die in shock and pain
Defending as you forget them
Because that is what you demand

Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again...

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Ringo, it saddens me so deeply too that these stories never make the news, as these are true stories of heroes, not those of our politicians! (sad sigh) As you know, I am a big protester against this war, and against the Administration, but it does sadden and sicken me when some other protesters will blame the troops on so much of the violence down there, for the politicians who mislead us into this war should be marching like them and stop treating them like remote-control machinisms! (wipes tears) No, the troops are not to blame, and there are so many heroic things they do that not even the half-hearted media will ever know! I vow to keep protesting against the injustice I feel here, but not against the troops, but for the troops, God Bless you, and God Bless the children, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ringo, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Gad, this speaks truth!  Agree or disagree with the war, those men and women step in the line of fire with good intent in their hearts and should be respected and embraced.

This is a much appreciated poem, Ringo.   Thanks for penning it for our Marines (and all our troops).

Once again, I apologize for not attending to this earlier... life and laziness are to blame.

Michelle- You are always too kind. Hugs and all of that.

Noah- I thank you for not being a "mindless protestor". We have always disagreed on these matters, and always will... however I truly appreciate that you are willing to see the good that is being done by the individuals, though you don't believe in the administration.

Susan- That is exactly what I was hoping people would get out of this. Thank you.

Iliana- Thank you for reading it. Although I wrote it about the Marines,  I am thinking of ALL of our services, and those of our allies.

James- Thank You.

PS- Thanks mucho.
