Listening to every heart

Coupled

It takes the tweak of time
To change circumstance, to go through
Nature’s auspice of secret maneuvers
That transforms winds, varying light
With shadows, tricking spring into more
Months of cool, moist trickles,
And hold off summer heat
Until just
Now…

Never have I seen cherry trees so laden,
Or peach limbs so heavy with abundance,

But the apple tree…
Hardly had a blossom to show this spring,
No pinkly white, nor light of buzzing
Bees to see blossoms spread,
It was barely flowered,
It was not every buds season….but for two.
Just these two, who grew to find
Each other.

They are connected, conjoined,
Browns holding greens, green to green,
All under blues, and light, and shadow,
Heat, and coolness…
They live together, warm days through cool nights…
Evertouching
And their scent?  They alone fill the air
With the fragrance of knowing
Their kin…if only in
Each other.

I think I will not separate them…
They appear too steadfast, as if separation
Would cause them to wither
And die,

So I shall let nature take her course,
Let them live their lives fully,

Conjoined, for their lives…
In their own world…
In their own time.

Where is the peanut butter!!!????????

I like that on my apples....so,  when these
two get UNconjoined and nice and juicy,
just give me a jingle....

Seriously KJ,  this is a beautiful picture
and poem that fits so perfectly with the
moment you have given us.

Karilea....nature has so many stories that remind us of where and who we are.  Thank you for this one.  And for being such a love!

Conjoined, for their lives…

These words alone....these alone....would be enough to make this poem a transcendant beauty. You KNOW, know what is right and good.

we can only really watch from afar...and let it all be
very very perceptive writing

Should you ever doubt your writing
Read this picture you are citing
Blossom petals are not kiting
But your verse is most exciting

No one captures a moment, with bird or tree or baby, quite like you.  Well done!!

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

So aware of your world, and nature.  This is as perfect as the picture of the “two.”
Beautiful poetry from your heart and mind.  Very enjoyable.

Yes, you are precious like PS said -- I love the way you see things the rest of us would probably miss, and then write about them so beautifully, opening our eyes!   jo

This is so very lovely... more so, even, than branches burdened with blossoms. *S*

fantastic write, but now that you've personified apples it'll be awhile yet before I can bite into one without hearing it scream

"tell her(the other apple)I loved her!"

I absolutely love the way you see things and write about them. It's as if you care for everything around you as a goddess of nature. I think you surely are....amazing.

Love,
Reg
