Lethal curling breakers at dawn
Bending lanterns of night silhouettes
How raw and psychotic
Sweetened high tide at first light
Fog horn hoarse, calling shrimp boats home
Dreaming sandbars couples quiet nations of shells
Ospreys plummeting, slow motion dives for breakfast
Luna moths adhered to fragile yet profound silver webs
Delicate and infinite forms of semitropical arpeggios

A sea green sanctuary inconceivably rich
With barrier islands shaped by the Atlantic
Years of notable generations docking inland
By a 4 lane causeway humming connection
Coming alive with season by default
Like a child’s life bestowed and equaled

Sun, lifting its golden forehead, over light-intoxicated clouds
Drifting on the skyline, as morning exhales
Bellows of surprise and playing porpoise
Stretching through metallic diamond shone waters

Sun now bright orange, climbing over trees
Where it as once before spent it’s formative years
Following each morning right into noon
While scattered marsh hens crackle lampoons
A light friendly odor of fish diverse
Hanging onto humid air like moss

All this pulsing commerce within the mind’s eye
Portrayals of character, inlaid cameos of channeling bonsai
Evensongs of nature’s dreams
Along an inland waterway of heaven’s extreme

LeeJ, somehow you have the ability to make fish smell pretty and the polluted air a little easier to breath.  Great poem.   .....jo

~ Yes, and you portrayed it heavenly! You are a master of disguise, I mean "description"!

Happy summer hugs,

You have a unique way of expressing such profound meaning within all of your verses, but this one, the last verse is so captivating.  Wonderful write Lee J.
