My Gruel

I grind my gruel the grit of wit
Mix it with some other chit
Dice it with a sprig of truth
And serve it as smooth vermouth

Spill it on a hot saucepan
Griddle it o’er laughing fan
Let the odor set the mood
And serve it as a wholesome food

Like or dislike all depends
On how the butterfly descends
Weather the nectar is taken straight
Or weather it is spit as bait

It is an entertaining dwell
With laughter as the ring of bell
Guffaws and smiles and many roars
Despite the tide of many floors

It is the shrewd that fills my sail
The novel food that keeps me hale

I just came back to say...
this will be the coolest verse I read today.

Like or dislike all depends
On how the butterfly descends
Weather the nectar is taken straight
Or weather it is spit as bait

you rock and it rolls me.

Sunshine
The other chit is some unruly wit.

Good morning, Mr. T.! ~ Ooops! It just slipped past noon! Cheese Whiz, time flies faster and faster as I grow younger and younger! lol

I'll trade you a slice of my angel food cake for a bowl of your ground grit and wit gruel!
~ angel please???

You serve up a mighty fine poetic gruel each morning!

Enjoyed the poem, the wit, the grit, but since I'm havin' ham on rye, I think I'll pass the odor by. Some of the lines give a bit of hint that not every time is the aroma fine.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
