There in a vision I saw it glowing blood red and velvet.
A Rose that grew, angels knew, in the garden of ever after.
It spoke to me and called my name.  “Joahnah, I’ll tell you a secret.”
“Come close to me and smell me sweet.”  It tempted me to stay.
How it spoke I do not know, perhaps through fragrance fine.
This Rose told me it had a name.  “Stay here with me a time.”
I nodded in disbelief,
Then tears I felt of my friend’s grief.
This friend, this Rose, his name was Wally.
He bloomed so big and full
But growing there in glory,
He knew he’d one thing more to do.
He said he needed to tell his Mary that this was where he was;
That he was there in the garden of forever’s eternal love.

He wanted Mary to know this but sworn me not to tell
(until an appointed time).  He said I’d know that well.
Even though I questioned, and wondered if it was real,
I did as Wally told me, not knowing how to feel.
I feared to tell dear Mary, so I kept that secret sealed.

A full year later, the day arrived,
I smelled the fragrance of the Rose's eyes.
It filled the room around us.  Mary and I were alone.
Words came suddenly, without delay, pouring out like Wally’d say.
I had thought Mary’d think me crazy for what I’d spoken then,
and I worried that I’d hurt her more than she could possibly bare.
But I was the one who was most surprised by Wally’s presence there.
Mary hugged me tight, let out a sigh, laughed, cried, almost cheered
and really was more than healed.
She lessened her embrace of me and kissed me on my check.
Her blue eyes teared and twinkled up.  It appeared that she was pleased.

Nothing rational can explain away the vision that I’d seen one night.
No exposé nor long essay can sway me to the left or right.
I walk a middle 'ground' these days; the rope I edge across is tight.
Without balance, I’d fall either way.  My balance, the vision, holds me upright.
Though at first I disbelieved, I followed as was told,
Holding the vision in my sight, reaching for the Rose.
And I seek to reach the other side, and can in truth no more deny that
He was right, I was wrong.  The Rose named Wally knew all along.

(big angel hugs) Oh Jo, this is sooooooo beautiful and made me cry, sweet friend, I truly believe with all my heart we have dreams for a reason other than just dreaming, for it is your heart that has brought the sunlight through to make the blooming of this rose possible and for Mary and all your loved ones it is as beautiful as can be! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, I send angel hugs out to you, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jo, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

I'm usually a bigger fan of short or medium length poems, but this lengthy poem struck me.

This has to be one of the best poems above twenty lines that I have ever read.

Jo, this was a priceless read....one of great insight and knowlege...it is quit rare and yet miraculous to know with no uncertainty isn't it.  Stay always on that tight rope, it will never fail you...
God bless, big smiles and hugs...

Astounding!  Thanks a bunch for writing and sharing.

Paper Tiger -- I am humbled by your most generous comment.  Thank you so very much.  Personally, I don't go for the long stuff very much either (my attention span is not very long) but this just came out......jo

LeeJ -- Thank you so much.  It really was a gift for a friend from a friend; and yet I was a beneficiary, too!

I'm sorry I couldn't resist had to read this again..and it still has the same effect on me...Sometimes things can't be explained our actions our dreams...I'm getting this weird deja vu confident feeling...adding this to my library like I should have the first time...
