Cornered

I can touch the seat,
where memories rest
when thoughts of the past
want to hide their possibilities
and where I am zoned in the twilight,
perfection always in the mind
but never in the hand
and I think of words, your words.

Some that touch, others that rile
some tangled in both, twisting my mind
competing, awaiting victory
in the shadows of remember.

There is a process to my life,
held together by a worn thread
if tugged at ever so slightly
the echoing of the unweaving spin
will be heard slicing through the air
lost in sorrow, reversing its gains
left speechless in print.

Slipping away, another part of me,
simple and true, leaving behind
a sometimes me, and a sometimes you.

M

beautifully written and while reading could not help think about one thing...the inspiration of self is absolute, as only we can know what we are feeling...but...to assume what the other is thinking can be a very bad thing...as one never does things or thinks the way they do for one reason, but many.  So to interpret the thoughts of others can be damaging only to ourselves...unless we hear it with our own ears...face to face, from that person.

Anyway...that is the inspiration derived from this outstanding write.  Thank you

Thank you Lee... I am always surprised at the interpretations of others to my words...and  sometimes I read responses to other's poems before I reply,  wondering if I am reading more into them than is there.

Thank you for your support

It is amazing at how lives are definitely and definitively interwoven - no matter how far apart we sometimes become, whether figuratively, or literally....

this is good, Maureen...

very good.
