That fear
Where longing thrusts collision course with chance
Stuttering our breath to hesitate this tidal dance
Before was a passage of illusions harsh hand
And here waits the chariot to an uncertain land
That fear
Do you know it?  Do you feel it?
In our mastery do we find the essence of truth
What is real defined in it’s tell tale proof
Our lips that come close to mouthing worlds held at bay
Against the throat that whispers smoke for all that we might say
That fear
That somehow things are not the way they seem
Should it be that I must hold my ground or give up on this dream?
To let this moment pass beneath the shimmering first skim
And bid goodbye and live a lie without you as my pulse grows dim
That fear
That you will go…a prophecy impressed to make it so
Or can I trust my heart to navigate the rough of seas
My God, this love I feel for you has brought me to my knees
As strong as talk may be, it is the last sense meant to see
That fear
That braves the plunge and brings your spirit warm in me

I can feel this --

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.

This poem was so real for me unearthing old, old memories of a predestined love....and it will haunt me now all day.  Exquisitely written, Kathleen.

Goodness Kiddo,  I do not believe I have
ever seen words like this from you.  Such
feeling and power...so many emotions you
have expressed in indelible ink that will
not erase or be washed away.
