The Right Thing?

I sit, gazing at the night sky
Not because I take from them
Boundless knowledge, or
Great wisdom. I stare at them
Because it’s the right thing to do.

As I look up, yearning to fly
I reach out to you above.
A tear runs down for
You, my dear, residing above.
I feel it’s the right thing to do.

I’m not sure why you had to die
Not sure what was the reason.
Or even if it was called for.
There had to be some silly reason
Be it only the right thing to do.

This is most sad.  We had to let my mother go.  It was the right thing to do.  Didn't make it any easier.

Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you.  Joy is a state of mind.
