I know your palette,
for I’ve seen your hues in nature’s clues.
I’ve seen yellow hay bales towering majestically
under a scorching orange summer sun
hanging from intense cobalt blue skies.
The bales were glowing the same mustard yellow
as the haystacks reflected in your eyes.
Those amber grains wave to me each day
alongside the deep viridian green alfalfa fields,
highlighted by splashes of poppies and boldest yarrow,
amid Queen Anne’s lace torn by treacherous thistles.
They greet me each day now, as they no doubt will tomorrow,
blending fluidly in contrast, a yin and yang dance,
as the blue cornflowers line up like wallflowers
the entire length of the gravel roadway and fence.
I am in awe, and bow my head and fold my hands.
And even as the sunflowers shout out your name,
I see the blackest midnight band of crows fly by,
flying in a rare "V" as if honoring your memory.
(Crows do not usually fly in a "V" pattern, as far as I know.)
I know your palette, Vincent.
For it is readily seen within nature’s clues.

You brought this into a focus of vivid colors and emotions.  Lovely.

I am impressed, Kacy -- yes, I think you do know his palette -- I would love to see your painting (I think you must paint the way you describe things).   .....jo

the imagery in this is so cool Kacy-girl...
such a lovely lacing of poet and artist this is... but then you are.

I would love to live as a river flows, carried by the surprise of its own unfolding.

Vincent was special, a genius child caught in a maelstrom of awareness, It would take a friend of my brother Crow to know.

*smile*  (He will fly in "V" formations at night to mock the self important geese.)

Your "Palette" offers sight and sound and smell as well as the colors of life. I always enjoy your writing.  KJ

Did we mention 64 Crayons the last time you
gave us a serious splash of color....OK,
this time you get 128....
