Once upon midsummer’s dream
We left this world of reality
Riding off into the forest green
Cooled by shade from noon day sun
Hidden from the jealous sky
In the shadows of fantasy
Slipping cross trails of yon
Draping veils of sheer cascade
Passed hollows of spell bound lore
Round corners of just beyond
Till we came upon a silver stream
Glistening in its playful tryst
Rippling cross stones with blissful kiss
And there upon the traveler’s cross
That spanned the waters breadth
We sat, hands clasped, dangling feet
And felt the heat of lover’s breath
Among waving grains of amber sea
Touched by breeze of passion sweet
And in your arms I found pure bliss
Once upon midsummer’s dream

Thank you dear friends.  This was, in fact, a day in truth spent riding across the mountain with my husband through some stunning landscape and finding an old railroad tie bridge from ages past across a shimmering stream.  It was truly a dream of a day and sweet in my memories.

Good Friday morning, all --

Susan,  I cheated!!  I read what you had
written about what inspired your write.  It
was helpful for me in gleaning even more
from your arsenal of metaphors...

Must have been a truly enjoyable day.  Sounds
very enchanting.

Most enjoyable, thanks Barry.  Sometimes I miss the magic of living on a barely populated mountain with miles open to us for exploration.

Excellent!

Several years ago, I saw Midsummer's Night Dream done under the stars at Sundance.  I havenn't thought of it in years.  This was powerful magic to bring up that memory.  Thanks!!!

Susan, what an outstanding write! It is very beautiful, with a flow that matches the gentle clarity and flow of a mountain stream. A keeper.

Eric, ice box, and midnitesun, thanks so for your warm replies.  And ice, I'm glad I could stir a pleasant memory for you, it is so nice when that happens.
