Hubby's New Love

Hubby’s brought home a brand new honey,
She’s all spiffed up and dressed in blue.
He raced her home, right to the front door,
Then asked me for my point of view.

Well, she’s full of curves and accoutrements
Her lines are vintage and grand.
Why, she’s even older than I!
Now for that, I’ll give him a hand!

He’s beaming with pride, not humble at all;
Proudly he says, “Oh, how she purrs!”
Well, now, when one’s hands are that full,
Somehow I'm feeling quite reassured.

“I’m taking her now to see my Mom,”
And chuckles with deep delight;
“Why, I even bet my Mom will say
That she can stay overnight!”

He touches and strokes her with great desire,
His love is quite apparent and true…
Oh to be a ’49’er again,
And a Chevy, all dressed up in blue.

Ok, all you car collectors!?  Speak up!
Tell us what you really think!

Karilea

My hubby would love her, just as yours does.  She is pretty cute!

I think she's grand.  My first boyfriend and I were big into classic cars (an interest not pursued for 25 years now, unfortunately).  Believe it or not, Karilea, he had a 49'er, but after he restored it, he painted it plum!  It sure was a plum of a car!  Great poem, and I bet hubby loved it, too!  ....jo

Unfortunately.....that car reminds me of one
that my parents had when I was about 6 or
so.  My driving skills weren't razor sharp
then and I managed to cause it to roll down
hill into a tree (nothing was hurt)....and
no one has forgotten it either....sheesh...

I think it is cute....and I knew it was a
car as soon as you started describing HER
to us.....certainly could never be anything
other than that....

That baby's got back...hehe. I love old cars. Daddy always has had one he tinkers on. Great poem, great days gone by, but at least we have some beauties to help us remember.

Love,
Reg

I'm glad he got it....since it's clearly something he's dreamed of. If it were me I'd choose another dream, or maybe another way of making it real. All the same I'm glad his came true.

I may not be a collector of vintage cars, but I sure do love them! In fact, last evening while I was out for a spin in my sports car (unfortunately it is spanking brand new), a very old car PASSED mine! ~ and I've been known to fly! ~ literally and otherwise! That baby was b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l and full of power! I was in love!

Now this morning, you have this treat for my eyes! Give your hubby a great big congrats hug for me! She's a beaut!

You captured a man's love for cars so well and blessed me with a grin.  Though not quite my vintage, 'tis a very nice car.

This is a great story for a classic car.  Perhaps not the flash of the later Chevs, but a great car and a great poem.  KJ
