Using Silence To Depart

I wonder is this your idea
Of letting me down slow
Was your silence saying
That its time for me to go

I noted everything change
Had you come to the end
Severing the ties silently
Is no way to treat a friend

Emotions are in disarray
As you pull me to and fro
Playing around my heart
Just before the final blow

Crushing my spirit slowly
Soon I shall be torn apart
While gutless you retreat
In using silence to depart

Hope silence does kill, and it is a very hurtful way to be treated....

Hugs and love to you~

I believe, there are two ways of reading silence...one...time alone to ponder, within reason...or, a way to control...leaving you hang, this way, he doesn't have to make a decission, or be gallent and tell you face to face, and if the latter be the case, then, you need to know that now, cause your way to special a person, for someone to play headgames with.

Hugs and prayers for resolve.

I hope to never do this sort of thing again. I have done it once,it was an abusive relationship...but it was too easy...

Either way such a departure is unfair to both because things that need to be said are never said.

they just don't get that we'd like to hear it straight from their mouths...much needed for closure...maybe it's a game to them?

I've read Dixies comment and she couldn't be more right...I believe a woman admires a man who is able to come forward and tell the truth no matter how difficult, not only shows he respects himself but also you and your feelings.  Yes, I believe it is a game, and also someone who will dangle you and know you'll be there when he needs someone.  If a man loves you, he'll be there no matter what, and share with you, everything about himself, even the tears and his hardships, so that both of you can go forward, with or without each other, most of all, possessing fond thoughts and respect for one another.

Darlin, God bless

The silent treatment is no way to treat a lady!

Hope, please do not ever allow anyone to "crush" your beautiful spirit!

Giving you an understanding and compassionate hug,
Linda

Poignant!

You form the silence into such a powerful and heartfelt poem

Hope -- long ago I had someone who was supposed to love me treat me this way.  Silence was his way of letting go.  It made me sooooo angry, I called him up and let him know I thought him a gutless coward.  Long story, but it felt good to tell him how I felt and then I could let go.  To this day I am so grateful that he left my life, for I now know that there was so much better waiting for me just around the corner and I would not have been happy with him.

Hope, this aches.  Sometimes the silence is worse than hearing words.
