Beneath the gold
a tomb cajoles
simple magick--act of craft
press the forehead to the tome
begging eye to hear the past
typing stories hypnotize
punctuated
with a tip
of my tongue in slight -
my "tell"--
a lick of cornered lips
a tip--
glancing with a sideways pass
just before I grind the bones
tracing death in glimpse of fact
here
I leave you with a kiss
and promise
that I will laugh last.

when she was dog tard,
'I'm all in but my shoelaces'
Thanks for the memory trigger.

Ser.  mysterious write....your title
inspired me to write a poem about poker,
being "all in".....  not exactly in sync,
so to speak.

Serenity...Enjoyed very much. You have such a style and way of twisting your words and our minds.

Taste the smell of dirt
as it covers face
Down, down I go
into the darkness of earth
To live or die....
deal the cards of life
the joker comes
to claim it's prize.
