Storms In Africa Click to hear song
Storms

A strong wind from the east,
Is an uneasy ally,
As it fills my sails tonight.
The stars reassure my doubts,
As I sail into the unknown.
Adventure is my birthright.

And yet I see the next,
Continent of clouds
approach from the north,
like a premonition,
Threatening the night
Stealing dreams in flight.

The wind comes from everywhere now.
It is playing a game with me.
It lifts me up to beat me down,
But there is no safety on the ground.
The lightning strikes, the rain pours.
My mind swims, my heart sinks.

It is an unusual feeling,
How little the rain affects,
Those who are already wet.
Soaked to the soul, I become,
A part of the storm,
Wearing the Ocean on my skin

The coastline of clouds recedes
As the dark of night's ocean
Claims it's right to the sky
Leaving behind wispy trails,
Of Cotton fluff, rebellious islands
Reminders of the Beauty and fury......
.......of storms

Beautiful Sherry!!
So good to read you here!
Love the feeling this gave me..
but then again, I love storms.
I hope you're here to stay awhile.
Say hello to Wilfred and Sean for 'us'.

Thank you, Nancy, I don't get inspired much anymore but last night I watched a sky full of clouds retreat backwards across the sky till it was clear to the horizon..... It gave me the last 6 lines of the poem..... the first came later.... Say hi to the Wizard for us.  Wilfred is doing well, working hard.... I'm still looking for another job.  Sean is in Windsor till Wednesday... bringing back a friend to Toronto for the month.... Glad you enjoyed the poem.

Linda, I liked those lines too.... Yeah, it's my poem.... but you can have favourite lines ..... It's my "turning point". I was just in one of those "trapped" feeling moods last night.... wanted to convey the feeling that I had bitten off more than I could chew in the last year... I love storms... but not as much when I am standing out in the middle of them..... LOL
I am glad you enjoyed it.

Love, Light and Peace,

Sherry

PS.. It took me the better part of the night (up till 6am) but I made a webpage for this one on my site... GO take a look!!!  Have your sound on.

Thanks, Vandana, glad you liked it.

Hey, Neighbour, Happy you popped in to read... Tequila Sunrises used to be my favourite drink..... but you know....
1 Tequila, 2 tequila, 3 tequila .....FLOOR!!
LOL

Barry, thanks, I found the pic by accident in my collection 2 hours after I made the web page for this one last night.  I though it went well with it too!!!  Glad you like the poem.

A while back, when I was removing some games from my computer, I lost my sound. I did check this poem out on your website (which is quite impressive and well worth exploring!!!)

You did a great job, Sherry!

Warm hugs,
Linda
