The color of delphiniums;

and the tease of horizons,
before the day is done,
when your sight is just about blocked
but yet can still surmise
what lay beyond the gate
to heaven's way,

the face of the pond
where the falling leaves
that brush the water
look inside themselves,
reflecting season's views,

the shade that makes the swirl
along the stationery billboard sky
way up high ............skies and eyes of you,
so blue, so very blue,

eyes that took me out to sea,
a capsized boat,
turned inside out and outside in,
without rescue,

your eyes of blue, eyes of blue
and no where out,
locked inside the depths of you
your eyes of blue.

Those must be some eyes.  I know eyes like this, only they are brown mixed with liquid amber and one can drown in them.

Much enjoyed.

Michele -- what eyes you describe!  I have only know three people in my life whose eyes have inspired.  One's eyes were blue (and nearly like you described only I saw a desert oasis dance in them); one who's eyes were almost black and I could see myself in them; and the third one, well, his eyes were green.  Now, isn't that an odd thing -- one for each color!  Enjoyed your poem so much!   ...jo
