Curves and pretty swerves
Twinkling eyes
Soft skin
Full lips....

Yes, follow my road to hell---

Lips that deceive with the ease of a smile
Eyes that hide the truth inside
Skin bears scars

But we all know beauty lies...

An excellent poem as usual. I especially like the irony implied in the three dots at the end of the line "But we all know beauty lies ...". We "know", but most forget, as the demon Beauty is most convincing.

Hi Kynder! Wow! I like all of your poetry, but especially this one.  I read it once, and it compelled me to write a poem of my own, which I will post.  Thank you for sharing your poetry.

Beauty and image is a favourite poem subject of mine. I often wonder if beauty just is what it is yet we expect more, we dissect beauty and create our own abstract form. Maybe beauty does not lie but blinds our eyes so that we don't see the truth, maybe we are the ones who lie TO OURSELVES about beauty. I am on a rant...sorry. You just got me thinking...

yes a great poem enjoyed this a lot.

apologises but I could resist the obligatory
Manic Street Preachers reference.

"Beauty finds refuge in herself
Lovers wrapped inside each others lies
Beauty is such a terrible thing
She is suffering yet more than death"

lyrics from She is Suffering.

"Take nothing but pictures. Leave nothing but footprints. Kill nothing but time".

"Libraries gave us power
Then work came and made us free
What price now for a shallow piece of dignity"
Nicky Wire, A design for Life.

manic street preachers
"Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany
Culture, alienation, boredom and despair"

"To be nobody-but-yourself-in a world which is doing its best night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."

E.E Cummings.
