You can see his eyes, blinking, looking at you,
trusting you.

His eyes close, and a tear escapes,
as he looks down at his mother.

The mother who played with him, laughed with him,
warned him.

About these men, with their big guns,
and their nasty eyes.

He looks up at you, and you can hear him sob,
the pain is bared.

And as you kneel in the snow, you realise
you were wrong.

Your hunters gun you lay down in the snow,
a sacrifice.

A prayer you give to God,
for forgiveness.

Wearily you rise, the baby seal looks at you,
and nods.

He now understands, and a bond
has formed.

And then you turned, walked away,
and cried.

I cried, too!
Nothing depresses me more than senseless violence towards animals and children! This is really moving.
