we met
in the middle
of nowhere

a throaty snarl
a gleam of
your green eyes
you lowered
your body
to the
ground ...
stretching

your coat
gleamed and dappled
in the sunlight

with a flick
of your tail
you decided
to let me live
and
you slunk away

This is lovely. I love animals too, both the fierce and the placid ones. I like the way your speaker shows no fear, only admiration, and the perfect way you conjure up the image of feline behaviour. More please!

Thank you Uta Lotharingia!

A friend painted me a beautiful picture of a tiger and a kitten, depicting what the kitten wished to become when he grew up!
While I was once again admiring it, the tiger in the picture seemed to come alive (I'm sure it's eyes gleamed!), and I came up with the tiger poem!

I'm glad you liked it.
