Night

It surrounds me
It engulfs me
It covers me
It feels what I feel
It sees what I see
It knows what I know
It is who I am
It is beautiful
It is peaceful
It is night

I can't really say why, but this one grabs me, great work!

God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown

~I like how you write,...I really, really like how you write.  Such  a short yet powerful poem you have here.  I like the style, I like the emotion it's filled with. Thank you for sharing it. *Peace.

Ahhh!! what would a wolf do without the night.
I do love it so.
Some think it covers and clokes, nay!!
It reviels more than ever what a day can.

great expression kid.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

ahhh, lovely, lovely! The night, at times, seems to be my only comfort for my own deamons as well as the human race...
it is never-ending
cold
longing
sweet
salvation!
Thank you for a wonderful read that said so much to me in so few but granduously powerful words!!!

At the opening I was expecting for it to feel claustrophobic or frightening, but I loved the line "It is who I am." This leaves a lot open to the reader, who can interpret it for themselves... well done.

This poem is so simple and elegant that I wasn't sure how to respond. Portia took the words right out of my mouth. I agree with her completely.
