Many years ago,
When I was only twelve,
My Grandmother died of cancer,
And some mysteries unfurled.

I didn't know she was dying,
They didn't tell me until she'd gone,
They didn't let me say goodbye,
Thinking I was too young and may come undone.

Yet in my heart I knew,
I'd dreamt her death long before it came,
I saw the funeral home called Mt. Thompson,
A place I'd never been!!

Perhaps she was preparing me,
I like to believe it is so,
For I believe she knew the true me,
And the problems I'd face letting go.

It was 20 years ago next month,
I still think of her often,
I wonder if I told her 'I love you'
Wonder if she 'really' knew?

I wish I'd had my chance,
To tell her one last time,
Let her know how much those little things meant,
Not telling her now seems a crime.

From a world renouned clairvoyant,
I was joyously told,
That Grandma is my guardian angel,
And knows the thoughts my heart does hold.

I like to believe it's true,
She's up there watching over me,
That she knows I did indeed lover her,
And that love will always be.

Her funeral twenty years ago,
Was just like in my dream,
Right down to the minister,
In a place I'd never seen!

I knew what he was going to say,
Long before he said it,
I knew the music they would play,
It's true!  Give me some credit!!

So I believe what the phsyic said,
That Grandma and I are somehow linked,
And when I feel the need again,
To tell her I love her all I have to do is think..

Grandma, even 20 years on I still love you and miss you and it comforts me to know you watch over me and mine.  I love you Grandma

Very nicely written,  not getting to say  goodbye is one of the hardest things, one of the things that ends up haunting us, but I'm sure  your  grandmother knew you loved her, and  just as  surely  she is watching over you !

I hate to sound like a broken record but I will.
They know we still love them, and they love us back.
very heart warming kid.
love ya.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

I believe strongly in links and I believe strongly in feelings and premonitions, this is a very lovely tribute to your grandmother.
Sometimes we have a "gift" for knowing things, and you did., you truly did.
