Here I sit alone again,
My only company today my cat,
I need more than daydreams to survive,
My soul exposed and bleeding on the mat.

No arms to comfort,
No one with whom to laugh and play,
No one to sing with,
Another nothing day.

No online friends around,
No music in the soul,
No one to dance with,
Am I losing control?

The cold howling wind,
Echoes the howls within,
But the show must go on,
I put on my makeup, my theatrical grin.

I comfort those who need,
I'm a loyal and loving friend,
But when feeling this way,
I see only a grim and lonely end.

Enthusiasm is so short lived,
Passions quickly die,
Alone I sit and ponder,
Why me? Why, why, why?

It seemes I'm destined to walk this world alone,
This is just another lonely day,
Hoping for some happiness,
To chase these blues away.

Cat, thanks hon, some of my friends are aware I get this way from time to time, but don't do much about it.  There are so many little things people can do, a funny e card, write a poem for you etc.  It is often the little things that make the magic in one's life.
And I have two cats, Harley a big boned black cat, and Karla a multicoloured part persian.

Yes Isis, it is the little things that matter. . .

If we don't get at least those. . . then we're really alone. . .

Good poem my friend...

~Isis,..."No online friends around",
I'm online,...I'm around,...I can be a friend.  Are you ok? This is chilling.  Oh BTW,...I have two kittys too.  .

I'm thinking of getting a dog soon, just so I can hold something in the evenings.
this is close to home this time kid.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

Isis

Really touching.  I can really relate.  You hold on to your dreams (and your cats!) and anything else that's important to you, and as SpitFire said: we're here (as much as is possible)  *Hugs*  We need you here.

A great post.

Isis,

Hello, for the first and I know not the last time. I am new here, so I don't know you well yet... but I am here, I am also alone (too much!) and have 2 cats...hmmm

I have found that it is possible to feel alone with a full room of people around you, but here in this forum you are not.

In my physical alone-ness (if that's a word) I have found more peace than when I was not, and have found that those of a similar heart have given me the most wonderful belonging. Those are the people that count!

Love and peace to you! TH

I will never understand why some of the neatest giving people have to suffer so?  Or maybe that is what makes them what they are?  You are one fine lady Isis.....lots of heart and lots of love!  You do not deserve to be alone.....EVER!  But, you are the type that will help others whom are facing being alone, and your personal experience, yes you will share and cry with them if need be. And......thats makes it at least worth going through......  Good poem darlin!

Hello just wanted to take the time to let you know that this poem really got me thinking of how I get at times, I am kinda new to this but not to poetry.  I can tell you just as I do take things from your heart and let them bloom on paper, keep up the good work and smile because god loves you.

Thanks my friends I am really overwhelmed by the heartfelt responses this poem aroused in you all....
Spitfire... yes thanks I am ok now, when i wrote this no one was on line then
Joel (Dad), I still think the dog is a great idea they are faithful and true and don't care who or what you are or aren't, they love you anyways.  A perfect companion for a start at least.. LOL  Go for it, don't forget if it's a girl you are to name it ISIS
Sgreybe, thanks hon, your response alone is enough to warm the cockles of my heart
Travelling heart, I know exactly what you mean hon, and once again I still hope here in Passions is a place where your heart will rest and draw strength for a while!!
Illusion, your response touched me deeply, thanks for your kind thoughtful words.  I may sound dumb but I believe it is my destiny to do what I am doing and be in between heaven and earth, and you are right it usually happens to people such as myself!!  Weird comeuppance, but understood and accepted it is much more bearable..
Mario, thanks my sensitive friend yes in speaking of God I am never alone I do know that and it is a comfort..
Swamp fairy , no fancy symbols     You hit the nail on the head, just like the song,
'The Show Must Go on' by Queen, I put on the theatrical smile all the while.

Again, thanks everyone for such lovely responses, this little poet counts herself lucky to have friends like yourselves *hugs*
