To some I'm merely a jester,
Held in scorn again,
Can someone please tell me,
Where do fragile hearts go to mend?

I've played my last hand,
Given til I can give no more,
I slowly walk away,
And lock and barr my door.

Soul continuously sighing,
Longing for things it'll never know,
The clock of life continues to tick
Echoing it's rhythm to and fro.

I've faced the greed,
The constant abuse,
Why try any more?
What's the use?

I've faced mental instability,
Sickness, tempest and fury,
It seems to me the whole world,
Is my judge and jury.

What am I?
A hollow shell of yesterdays..
A lighthouse without it's light,
I've hardly the strength to stay and fight.

When will it be my turn?
When will things get better?
When will my freedom ring?
Why is everything so bitter?

My unending strength is waning,
My patience all but gone,
Replaced with longing,
My God what's gone wrong?

No one around to comfort,
To lend a sympathetic ear,
No one sees the tears I cry,
Is the end inevitably near?

I need to recharge my batteries,
And even that is too much to ask,
Life holds no real joy these days,
It's just another unending task.

I cannot go on this way,
And you refuse to see,
This nothing that is my life,
Is slowly killing me..........

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

excellant poem, liked everything about it especially the end great job

"you can have my isolation..you can have the hate that it brings
you can have my absence of faith..you can have my everything"

"so impressed with all you do..tried so hard to be like you..flew too high and burnt the wing..lost my faith in everything"

"I am too connected to you to
Slip away, to fade away.
Days away I still feel you
Touching me, changing me,
And considerately killing me."

Your poem is very well written. Don't take this wrong way, please, but do you have any that doesn't rhyme?
I have felt this way in the past and can relate on a personal level. Thanks for posting your work and giving me the opportunity to share your feelings.

Nice one Isis, an emotional upheaval...

To some I'm merely a jester,
Held in scorn again,
Can someone please tell me,
Where do fragile hearts go to mend?

I relate to these feelings a lot....

Regards, sudhir

That in an art gallery is left hanging,
Though many come just to look at it,
A very few actually come to enjoy it.

a powerful poem,

"Can someone please tell me,
Where do fragile hearts go to mend?"
I wish I knew the answer, they say time is a great healer, but I feel it takes too long.

"Soul continuously sighing,
Longing for things it'll never know,
The clock of life continues to tick
Echoing it's rhythm to and fro."

really loved this verse quiet haunting.

This one has power behind it, what the eye doesn't see the heart feels.

"No one around to comfort,
To lend a sympathetic ear,
No one sees the tears I cry,
Is the end inevitably near?"

The feelings of loneliness here are overwhelming.

love ya kid.
