Hi,
This is my first post at Dark... I think I should have had posted this in this forum right away, but had posted it in Open #7 earlier.

Could you please comment on what you think about this one? ... thanks in advance

Fear - Being near to death
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gripping fear stalks me
Sending a chill down my spine,
Providence is hurting me,
Is this the last step of mine?
The reaper is ever so grim,
Did I step a step too many?
Danger lurks around the corner so trim,
Did I walk a walk too many?
Silence, it chides me,
Oblivion marks its fingers,
Darkness of the soul warns me,
Solitude wreaks its anger.
It is the fear of the unknown,
(It is) the fear of the wrath,
(It is) the fear of being non-existent,
(It is) the fear of my end. (Yes it is)
Constancy is taking its toll,
Of doing nothing but wait,
This pessimistic world awaits my end,
As I look forward from my own end.
 Life is like a painting,
That in an art gallery is left hanging,
Though many come just to look at it,
A very few actually come to enjoy it.
Yes who ever told you it belonged here is right,
Death is a subject I'm familiar with I've kissed her lips many times, and have walked away, not clean but shaven. haha
The question of have I taken too many steps
when you have asked that the answer is "YES"
but then it's to late to undo what ever.
Just duck and roll with the blows kid.
Yes you have a very good poem, it brings back thoughts I've held many years, Some I've tried to forget, some not.
But that's the point isn't it.
To stir cobwebs. haha
Thanks
Joel.
 I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.
I agree with Joel, you brought up some great points, and answering some of them yourself is a simple but often different form of poetry that is certainly fine in this case.
It is definitely a dark poem and belongs in these gloomy halls.  Good work hope you come back from time to time and post some more
 I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....
Hi Joel, Isis,
Thanks for reading the poem and also for your appreciative comments.
Well, by nature, I am a 'everything is nice in the world as long as you look at it that way' kinda guy. I usually post my stuff at Open #7. But I have posted a few of similar poems there.
Recently I realised that this forum, that I had never visited before, should be given a try and read a few of the poems. Though, I did not post any replies immediately, I was thinking like I should repost a few from the Open #7 here to judge if what I think is suitable for this forum is indeed right. In short, you will hear more from me and more frequently.
I am thankful for your time...
Regards, sudhir.
a fantastic poem, sent a shiver down my spine. I think we all realise how fragile life is, I am one of those people who tends to think about things too much, included death. I don't fear it, I only fear dying and how I am going to die. A wonderful poem,
