From the first time I saw your little wet nose and puppy dog eyes I know you would be with me forever,
You were my sweet little dog,
My beautiful GREAT DANE,
My Isis Elizabeth.
You were nice to the kids even when they pulled your ears and sat on you,
You protected me,
You are my Sweetest angel,
What went wrong I still don't know,
The fingers where pointed to only you,
No one thought about the Chow, are pit bull down the road only you, You who has never hurt anything,
But now here I am having to say good-bye to you.
I will always love you and no dog will ever take your place.

I don"t know how many people are going to say that it's stupid to write a poem about a dog but I dont care She was my dog and We had a bond between us. I loved her.  The thing that happend was my sister found my Dog sitting by my moms dead mini horse that she has only had for 3 weeks.  No one saw the dog do it but everyone blames her. I know her nature and I dont think she could have done it.  But it doesnt matter what i think.  I have to find her are my mom will get my brother in law to shoot her.  So I wrote it for her and i hope she knows i love her.

Oh This is soooo sad!
It is not stupid to write about a dog and your love and heartbreak come through in this poem.
Also in your letter below it.

Maybe your dog was only sitting there, because it cared for the horse...sometimes they also do that because a family pet is showing concern for another family pet...like...."hey, look what happened here!"

How else could the dog tell you?

I think I would make them examine the dog and see if the dog did it...If they can't prove it...you should get to keep your dog.

This also doesn't sound to me like something a great dane would do!

I hope everything works out OK for you and your pet!

(((hugs)))

Isiskate,
Why would showing your affection for your pet be stupid??
Wonderful poem and letter to us, I hope you feel better.

Isiskate, there is nothing wrong with saying how you loved your faithful friend/dog.  I was an only child and growing up our labrador was indeed my best friend and companion.  I missed her so when she passed.
I don't have the link but there is a pet memorial web page you can visit and leave you poem as a tribute to Isis Elizabeth.  Please go and check it out.  It stays on the web page permanently in memorial.
*hugs* I know how you feel hon I really do.
Once an animal lover you are always one.  i should know I have 2 cats, 2 fish and 2 birds and feed all the wild birds!!!

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

I still miss her, and you will your Isis.

It's to long to put here if you want I'll send it to you, Just E me

My heart goes out to you kid.
I've had two wives and one good dog, I'd rather bring back the dog...

Thanks everyone.  Its nice to have someone to tell you it will be ok and understand what you are going through.  Thanks so much.
I had said that thing about it being stupid b/c in my family and sign of emotion is a sign of weekness. And my sister keep telling me i'm stupid for careing for her so much, I'm glad i have people to tell things to that wont tell me I'm being stupid.  Thanks

I guess I'm a little late with this reply, but I don't think it's stupid at all, and the poem was really sad. I don't know how I would react if my cat died, I love him very much, he means a lot to me since I don't have any friends, but mostly when something bad happens to me, I just get depressed for weeks, and then I try to forget about it. So I probably wouldn't think about my cat that much if I lost him, but since he's alive he's there to cheer me up a bit when I'm feeling down.
