Civilities Tongue
~*Marge Tindal*~

Writ with tongue of civility,
the ancient father's lies.
The words crumbled
like the blood-stained sand
wherein my brothers lie.

Treaties writ and sworn
in blood of ages past
flimsier than the parchment
on which they were inscribed.

Beyond the sands of time
Farther than the eagle flies
we shall be held accountable
by the Great Spirits Of The Sky.

Gathered at the Counsel
they will sit the Vision Quest
Time has come, as it was promised,
for things to return to those
who could care for the land and waters,
the animals and the fowl
Time has come - to remember
White Buffalo Calf
born again to man.

Time for the rising
of the Spirits at long-last
Fulfilling the promises
not kept in the past.

Not many promises were kept, And it will take still a long time to heal mother earth from what has been done.
I feel this poem to my bones.
Great words unheard by many.
Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

Joel~
Thank you for your reply.
My forefather's of the Cherokee
have left the legends to tell us
that there will come an accountability.
We will live in peace as one and return
to the bounty of the earth that with which she was blessed so long ago.
I don't know if we'll see it in our time,
but it will come.
Perhaps you would like to view a page of my Native American Indian poetry ?
I tell the stories brought to me through the sages of the past.
Please take a look at the web site listed.
I believe you will enjoy it.

Lil' Lizzie~
I am but the vessel into which the legends are poured ... my mission is to tell them to others ... and so I do.
Thank you for understanding who I am.
Love ya'

Wow Marge!, I love this. You may only be the vessel into which the legends are poured but you convey them so well and with such feeling. I too believe that one day we shall be called to account for our actions against our mother earth. Great work!< !signature-->
