one Chance

The caffeine pills won't keep me up forever.
I'll need the Sleep sometime.
Dream the nightmare of your face;
Hear the pretty laugh that makes me cry.
You can have the rest of your life;
take all the time and space you need.
I hate to put any words in your mouth,
but you won't ever talk to me.
I'll never get a second chance
to see if I'd be better or worse.
I'll never get that second chance
because I never got the first.

The Prozac won't pep me up forever.
I'll have to Feel one day.
It's too bad the day that I felt
was when you ripped my heart away.
"You weren't looking for a relationship",
but you've found this "real sweet guy".
It's amazing how you destroy a dream
while looking the dreamer in the eye.
I'll never have that second chance
to say my heart was ready to burst.
I'll never get that second chance
because I never got the first.

The razors won't make me bleed forever.
I'm gonna have to face my Fears.
You'll never remember me but I'll
have the scars as souvenirs.
I promise myself this is the last goodbye.
I promise you're in the past.
I hope that your neck stays healthy;
you jerk your face away so fast.
I'll never get a second chance
to tell you how much it hurts.
Don't think I'll need that second chance;
I said it all with the first.

Great Poem! I have felt this with the lady I loved. Reading this almost brought tears to the mask called my face. I hope to see more soon.

I loved your poem, we often get hung up in other things to take away the pain, was very good words to describe how it makes one feel.
