Maybe someday you will know how much I love you.
Maybe someday you will remember my soft hands, not my hard.
Maybe someday you will look back and see the boys I chased away,
were not good enough for you.
Maybe someday you will smile remembering my laugh.
Maybe someday you will think about what I did give you
and not what I didn’t.
Maybe someday you won’t blame me for leaving, when I had to.
Maybe someday you will know there wasn’t a thing you could have done.
Maybe someday you will know a daddy’s love.

To my daughter “Brianna”
DaPaw.

Dear Joel

This has such a mournful, yearning edge to it: the longing of the father's heart, not able to give what he so desire's to give.  One day your daughter will remember all this.  Touching indeed, my friend.

~Joel,...this piece you have written has made me think about my own situation.  First, I'd like to say that it took courage to write a piece like this, and I admire you for that.  I hope that someday she gets this message,...if my own father (whom I do not speak with) had thoughts like this,..I'd surely like to know.  Atleast that it mattered to him,..atleast that I was still in his thoughts.  This is so very heartfelt Joel and I'd like to thank you for posting it. *Peace.

There is a lot of love to be found in this world if people would cease to judge and criticize.  Often times, it is realized too late.
~~this sends a nice message, hope it falls on loving ears~~
..good writing..

Your post was a sweet one. It makes me think now about my dad, when he goes see my sister he never asks where I am, are if I'm ok.  I wish my dad would care even a little bit for me, If he does I wish he'd at least say he's sorry for leaving.  It really hurt me and Now he is spending time with my little godson and i dont want him to hurt my godson like he hurt me and my sisters.  He once did tell my older sister though that if we were boys he would have seen us. It was a great post and I'm glad to know that there are men who still care.

Thanks Sylvia, yes I wanted to give more, but the divorce took everything I had.
including my spirit.

Thank you Spit. haha, She comes to my apartment on some weekdays, to visit, we are close. and she reads some of my poetry. I'll let her stumble on it. haha

Thanks Dan, and yes She has loving ears, she will hear.

Isiskate81, thank you, I have a dad about like yours.  except he goes to see my sisters  and stays with them not me.
Kinda funny the world poops both ways.

Thanks guys.
Joel.
