She comes again dressed in black
like so many times before.
Kissing my lips with a knowing look
with an utterance I swore.

She has been to my door many times
so I knew what to do.
I placed my heart on a shelf
for safe keeping
and put on my shoes.

I needed to see an old friend
and she accompanied me.
We drove a ways
she didn’t say a word
just to be within her presents
again tells me,  numbered are my days.

She smiles so sweetly
with a come to me sensuous  look.
Holding me tight to her bosom
struggling to be free from her,
I find no reprieve in the good book

She is stronger than any other
I have ever know.
She rivals that of what
God has ever shone.

Within her presents
I shake and tremble,
but stare her in the eye.
Living my life clean and simple,
I wait to die.

-----------------------------------
To death’s door I have been many times
closer than most, with a brush of luck
I still survive.
I walked into a store the other day, and hearing some harp music of my friend
Hillary Stagg.
I told the owner about my friend, of how I hadn’t seen him in over a year
He told me that Hillary had died six mounts ago.  Some of you may know of his work.
I will miss him, he was a friend.
Now I travel to another friend that has six mounts to live.
She will never stop.
Ladies please don’t get peeved at me for using a “SHE” for my Icon of death, I have kiss her several times and I can’t fancy kissing a guy, that’s all.

Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.

~Joel,...you gave me such a  sense of how you were feeling...it was pretty incredible.  Great job with this one.  Really!!!
*Gosh Joel,...I'm truly sorry about your friend,...play his music in a secluded and quiet place and say goodbye to him in your own way.....that's awful to hear...again,..I'm sorry for you,...for him.  And now you're on a journey to visit another friend with not much time???....goodness,..I send you strength...K?  Take care,...and no offense taken to calling death a SHE.....probably is.  *please try and smile.

Beautiful heartfelt work here, Death can be seductive to those who are ill etc.  Great work

A heart and soul are not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others...

thanks, hahaha
Yes heartfelt, he was only about 40. it happened unexpected.
I would help him at the street fairs, to fix his harp. he will be missed.

Swamp, yes she can be very seductive, she has drawn me to her several times.

Isis, thanks yes she is very powerful.

Joel, great poem man, yes I too once tasted deaths kiss, brought back a side of me that I thought once lost, my soul now struggles between light and dark, between her embrace and lifes sweet touch.
