Who are you to mock me?

To laugh at my love for you
As if it where some trinket to be
easily discarded once played with

Who are you to tell me I am not worth your time?

You who begged me to love you once
Who couldn’t get enough of me
like some child with a shiny new toy

Who are you to step on my feelings?

As you pursue you newest interest
Chasing new conquests at top speed
As my heart slowly twists in your tailwind

Did you think I felt as you did?

That love was to be wasted on anyone
Any time I felt the need
Disposed of when satiated

What kind of monster are you?

Walking away from me as I cry out
For some empathy or an explanation
Some small pittance of compassion

What kind of sadist am I?

Still loving you in spite of the pain
Needing you in the presence of your disdain
Missing you as you stand before me laughingly cutting my throat

 Dance like no one's watching.
Love like it's never going to hurt.
If it does hurt, shoot em! <Grin>

~My my....this post is powerful.  I could feel it,...have been here with you...still loving, still giving and caring when all you get in return is "sick torture laughing"...I wrote a poem a while back about something similar. (check it out if you have the time) It's titled...this isn't a poem...more of a vent (ironically).  Great work here...and take care. Peace

This is called the false leaf syndrome, when a leaf is cut in half, under krillan photography it still shows the cut part, as being there.
We miss what is cut off, even if we know it's not there anymore. I believe it's the feeling we miss, not the person now, but the person then.
my heart to you kid.
this is a great poem very powerful, strong.
Use this inner strength to pull you out.
Joel

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.
