The man stood
The fires blaze
all around is
heat and haze

The child
cries to him
calling out
his own name

talking of heat
and agony and
eternities
of its pain

how he longed
to run into
face the licking
fierce flames

But his fear
held him in
his heart
tight in place

His head span
His legs gave
all alone
in orange haze

He awoke alone
a hospital bed
only to find
his baby dead

The bitterness
he couldn't hold
his life he took
his cowardice showed

  Hello darkness, my old friend,
I've come to talk with you again,
Because a vision softly creeping,
Left its seeds while I was sleeping,
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence.

powerful images here walter...
sometimes we cant live with the mistakes we make...
some times the pain is too much...
guilt is a heavy load...
I try not to think of it as cowardice...
perhaps lost...
Im so glad to see you posting again

--------------
I know it's been a long road
To get these towns behind me and I
Will gladly reap what we may sow--
I am there for you ...
and you're there for me ...
Are you waiting for
Heart in hand
Woman and man
See me where I stand I am
Heart
Heart in hand
~vertical horizon~

Yes Walter it's good to have you back.
And with a great poem, the images are very realistic.
Joel.
