Oh, this is just great.
When will this madness within end?
He traps me still,
And he's nowhere around.
I fear the world and the
Questions it brings.
Those prying looks,
I tire of them.
I want my life back!!!!
Left him almost a year ago,
Still I bear the mark of him.
I need no shelter,
No battered woman class.
Just need to know how much longer are
These damn bruises gonna last.

Heart breaks cut as deep as you let them, and bruses only as lone as you don't treat them.
I understand this poem so well, my 20 year down the drain over 21/2 years now, I let go about a year after. it is hard.
Joel.

I howl a mournful song, that echos within my chambered heart, for all to read? nay for all to feel.
