Twin teeters
swaying in a breeze
hanging on to the world
to the relationships
they left behind
time to rest
time to move
time to realize
that we're not still there
like I thought
screeching tires
rubber burnt
poles of hatred taken down
in the night
on that night
eyes tighly closed
shielding my heart
from seeing them go
ripped from me
from this world
in an instant
not right
too young
not real to me
not yet
because we are still there
still smiling while we sing
still laughing while we dance
still holding hands
holding on to that night
in the bar
on the corner
too close to home
to have taken the risk.

*J and T......missing you.
