A prayer for the dying, silent and weak.
You pray for me now that I cannot speak.
You pray for the sorrow left in your heart.
You pray for a new life, to make a clean start.
You pray for your comfort, the sadness to end.
You pray for your coldness, the loss of a friend.
You pray to the Gods in the Heaven above.
You don't see me soar on the wings of the dove.
You pray to expel all the pain from your soul.
You pray for something to fill up that hole.
You pray for forgiveness, and end to your plight.
You pray I didn't give in, give up the fight.
You pray that I'm happy and safe in the end.
But what you are praying for is the loss of your friend.

What a touching ending...love the last line! I would have never thought of this...whoever inspired you must be special in your life...

Thank you both I am glad to have touched people with my words. I wrote this poem for the people that I have lost in my life and the feelings I have to try to deal with after.

Welcome to the dark Forum, really liked this and it rang true with me too, death is a sad friend or enemy to us all
