The warm gentle breeze
lightly caresses my cheek
the tears begin to streak
slowly down my face

There is a sharp pain
deep within my chest
i have failed the test
put before me today

The hurt is immense
more intense than ever
you think you're so clever
getting it your way

Now I am alone
which way to turn
my heart already burned
beyond all recognition

What will now become
of the charred remains
that bear dark red stains
and several jagged scars

From the awful breaking
that your words caused
could you have paused
to consider how I felt

Kathleen,
Thanks for the encouragement.  I feel as though I was tested and in the eyes of the one I love have failed miserably.  Glad you liked it.  A ray of light through the dark perhaps......

Same thing happened over here last night for me Lone Wolf, I know how you feel all too well.  I fail in some ways too... I understand.

Isis,
Thank you for understanding.  Sorry that you relate so well....truly unfortunate.  Just feel like I failed.....him and myself.  Not a good way to feel at all.  Could it be that we have more in common than we thought??

Oh Lone wolf,

I really know this feeling too well.  Your poem almost brought me to tears. All the pain and emotions...reminds me of one I did "Rejected".  Hopefully in time this feeling of failure will leave you.  I'm here if you need to talk.

Daniel

Daniel,
Thank you for the offer to talk.....would like that some time.  Sorry you too can relate to this feeling.  Have a kleenex for those tears....I do have a great deal of pain and other emotions right now.  I am sure time will heal my pain......eventually.

This was soo sad to read, but don't say you have failed. It just wasn't right for you but that doesn't make you a failure.

Tracie....thanks.  I know it wasn't right, but thought it was for so long.  Perhaps under different circumstances it could have been different.  Know I am not a failure.  Did all I could, but just tired of the battle.  I surrender.

Joel.....sorry to hit so close to home.  Not many words for me either.  Thanks for saying you feel for this and me.  I feel for you too.

Lone Wolf I have felt like I failed many times...we learn from our experience and our mistakes and someday we will make better choices.  Sometimes if we are where we don't belong we are set up for failure.  For example my ex never seemed to consider how I felt...whether it was selfishness or because she didn't care about me or care if she lost me...I'm not totally sure of the reason..however I suspect she was just a selfish person and acted accordingly.  James

James,
I know the mistakes are part of life.  Just felt like a failure on this day....like maybe if I had done things differently, there would be a different ending.  Sorry about your ex.  Sounds like she hurt you pretty bad.  E-mail me if you'd like to talk sometime....okay??  Thanks for the reply.  Feeling better!!
