Hi yall,
well guess what,  i am back with another poem.  this is a long one so i will keep the intro brief.  this is a poem that i wrote for my girlfriend.  i havent givin it to her yet.  she is coming up on friday.  *hopefully*  and thats when i am giving it to her.  but i wanted to see what yall thought of it first.  so let me know what you think.  thanks.  well here goes nothing.

To My Little Chickadee

As I look out my window
And stare at the stars
I wonder how you could feel so close
Yet live so far
The day I finaly met you
Is a day I will never forget
For when you looked into my eyes
A fire in my heart was lit
As we laid in each others arms
All snuggled in my bed
I prayed to the lord above
And this is what I said
"Please lord grant me this one wish
And please let it come true
Let me spend the rest of my life with her
And thats all I'll ever ask again from you"
I can still remember
The first time we kissed
I fought off the urge to faint
But it was hard to resist
That kiss took my breath away
It sent my heart all aflutter
Then you looked in my eyes and said "I love you"
And I melted just like butter
Then on New Years Eve
I gave you my ring
I took you by the hand
And asked you one thing
Will you be mine forever
Will you love me to the end of time
You answered my question with a kiss
That sent shivers down my spine
But then a few weeks later
We started to fight
We said alot of hurtful things
On that cold winters night
That night I thought it was over
That night I thought we were through
I spent the rest of the night crying
I didn't know what to do
So I made some plans to go back home
Plans that I thought were right
I wish I could go back in time
And change what I did that night
Cuz a few days later we worked it out
And our love was like brand new
But I couldn't stop my friends from coming
There was nothing I could do
The night before I left you
Was a sad night indeed
But you held me in your arms and comforted me
In my time of need
Then you took my hand in yours
And placed it on your heart
You said I would always be in here
So we will never be far apart
Then just before
I walked out the door
I hugged you again
And kissed you once more
The pain in your eyes
I could easly see
Cuz the same pain that was running through you
Was also running through me
Now I am back at home
A place where I thought I wanted to be
But being in your arms
Is the only home for me
Its been almost two months
Since I left your loving arms
And returned to the cold sadness
Of this lonley farm
Then you said
You would come up to visit
I couldnt beleive it
The timing is exquisite
I am going to do now
What I should have done then
And as this poem
Comes to its end
As I stand before you
With what I am about to do
I have but one last question
To ask of you
Now look into my eyes
And answer me
Wanda,
Will you marry me???

"I prayed to the Lord above and this is what I said, Please Lord grant me this one wish..and please let it come true.  Let me spend the rest of my life with her..and thats all I'll ever ask again from you."  I loved those lines...in fact I prayed similar prayers myself many times and one just recently and I know that I must keep praying so God will know my heart and I will be sure of my feelings.
I don't mind long poems if they are interesting like yours and well written as this is.   I have a good friend named Jesse and when we hang out they call us Jesse James.  And good luck to you with this relationship.   James

hey jesse,
this is PERFECT...so full of your
devotion and heart...
I'll be wishing hoping and praying for ya too.
good luck sweets.
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

Jesse~
How could she resist?
Give it to her and she will surely melt, the words are just plain beautiful.
