My body is my pay check , that’s my thing.
I use it to pay the rent,
selling my Axx on the corner the moneys all spent.

It’s been years it seems I’ve done it all my life,
struggling with johns to pay me what I give them not there wives.

Life’s not fare that much I know,
like last winter friend died
hiding in alley garbage can
deep in the snow.

Trying to get ahead maybe Hollywood,
I work hard every day, on my back on my knees,
even in trees (he pays good).
Trying to get ahead, if only I could.

Saw a baby in the bush it didn’t cry,
knowing it was go’na die,
it stared at me without a whisper with vacant eyes.

Monkeys on my back got to shake it loose,
before it kills me,
it feels my necks in a noose.

Went by  old folks home
knowing  I’ll never see,
tried to score sympathetic cash
from oldies relatives maybe?

You’ve seen me a thousand times,
on the streets and around play yards,
seen stuff happen make you scream,
keep your children from these scars.

I’ve been every where done every thing,
and if caught I think they would put me in the big pin.
But not right now you see my next birthday
I’ll be ten.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
We all forget the little ones that grow up hard not just in the cities but the world over.
It’s a sad world and I try to find some joy in it and my safe haven,  But I can’t help to feel empathy for my little brothers & sisters and the family Human race.
And help where I can.
Joel

joel, thank you so much.  if people had any idea of how these "kids" got started, touched by family and so-called friends......
this is excellent, simply excellent.  i hope you don't speak from experience, my precious friend.  may no one ever burn your skin.

No my friend Kynder, Some one did a poem on kids, ?? not sure the title, but I said in reply that I'd had the chance to talk with this child-man, once, it was very moving, he propositioned me, I kindly turned him down, not that way.! I did buy him lunch
When he told me of that baby with vacant eyes,?? hell he couldn’t even help himself.
This is tearful, and true.
Love, Light.

Joel, if only others could take a second to look into those eyes, rather than coldly walking past, too busy.  Too afraid to see things for what they are.  Thanks again.

That was absolutely incredible, joel.  We really do need to stop and see what's all around us... thank you for bringing that to light.

Dad I must truly be your daughter, for I feel the exact same way.  And I do stop, and I did my volunteer work.  I care too much to just pretend people aern't they, and if more people did as we do, the world would be a somewhat better place.
Wonderful work and thoughts here Dad, my hat is off to you.

A heart and soul are not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others...

None of us would like to admit that there are cases such as these but they are all around us, in places unexpected. If we could only convince everyone to fill thier eyes with empathy! May we all learn from your example.
