Walking an expansive hallway, a door far in the distance. As the wall’s stare, your walk increases, reaching for the door. A maddening noise radiates through the hall, a deafening voice with no end. Blocking it, the voice gets louder, and is joined by a thousand more. Your flight increases, as the walls close in. The voices piercing the soul, the walls crush your body. The walls become faces, Eyes with a cold stare. Mouth’s releasing a deafening voice. “The door! The door!” Your mind screams, “Just get to the door!” You race down the hall, trying desperately to reach the end, but the walls... the walls of people, they are not yet done. As you crash to the ground, you cry out... How far did you get? How much further to the end? As you raise your tear-stained face, your glazed eyes stare in disbelief. Did you get anywhere? Are you any closer? Are you any further? The door, no closer then when you started. The walls are surrounding you, The voices, echoing forever. There is no escape... There is no end... Have you found your door? |
