Rejected

Words,
filled with hate and hurt
words
become swords that cut to the core

Emotions are neglected
as the blade is released
and pierces the heart
inflicting a fatal wound.

Cast out into the dark
once again, as demanded by fate
when will the mind learn
what the soul knows...solitude

No physical pain
can compare to the pain
of the soul being denouced while the heart
is torn asunder

Displaced in time
rejected
the soul and heart die
Never able to function again.

Yes, words can hurt.  We must all be careful and choose carefully before we open our mouths...Good one!

great poem.....ur not really leavin are you?

 Don't fear failure so
much that you refuse to
try new things. The
saddest summary of a
life contains three
descriptions:
could have,
might have,
and should have.

The last post is the one we cling to the most. It must be stronger, more steady and this was. I see another post for you....and another...and another....

Thanks everyone,

I wrote this  a few weeks back, at a very very low point after a really bad fight with  a close friend.  That is how I felt. I posted here as my last orginal post for awhile.  But I'll still be here reading and replying to all the other wonderful poems.

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship."

--Ralph Waldo Emerson
