Silence.....

All I hear are the faint beats within,
Distant drumming, an alluring tempo,
I fight another demon today,
This one, his name is lonliness.

Reaching out, there's no one there,
Today I'm only going through the motions,
Today I see no sliver of hope or life,
Today I may drown in my own emotions.

Estranged from the world this morn,
The dark clouds and rain echo the storm within,
An outcast in my own life,
I miss that light within.

I want someone to come along,
Please someone set me free,
From this life of mere existance,
I know there is better than this, there MUST be!!

So isolated, the inner drums quieten,
Now I can barely even hear them,
In the jungle, the quiet jungle,
My soul it sleeps tonight.....

That drum is the beating of another heart,
I believe our souls search at night when we sleep
to find one that keeps beat with ours.
this is so great.

The stars shine so bright, now's the time
I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face,
Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you
And held you close.
Now I will reach for the stars...
Because Oh my love, that's where you are...
Though the storms of black night rage on
I still see your face
I still feel your lips on mine
And though my heart feels all alone without you
I still hear you sing to me
I still hear your voice on the sea...

Remember that even in the silence, there can still be things that can be heard, we only have to listen. . .

Excellent poem Isis. . .

"I know there is better than this, there MUST be!!"
I've felt exactly like this before.  There's got to be more out there, better than this, better than the life I'm living now.
Great job!

Isis~
This was so amazing to read, I could feel every emotion and I felt a loneliness inside as I read.
I'll send an e-mail tonight.

As Sven said, in the quiet you can hear things with your heart. The heart and soul know much more and feel more than the mind ever can. Go with that, let your heart find that person, and don't wait for it might not come.

Daniel

The glory of friendship is not the outstretched hand, not the kindly smile, not the joy of companionship; it is the spiritual inspiration that comes to one when he discovers that someone believes in him and is willing to trust him with his friendship."

--Ralph Waldo Emerson
