Hurt and alone in this cold old house, < !signature-->Staring at the candle's flame, I seem to be staring a lot lately, Don't want to look at reality or say it's name. Dreams how I love them, A short reprieve from this earthbound misery, In my dreams I've fulfilled my true destiny, In my dreams everyone loves and respects me. Fleeting moments of happiness, All too soon they pass away, Just like my emotions, they too have passed over, No happiness for me this day. Fate brought me here, and now I have to wonder why, I can't mend these problems, No matter how I try, Again coldness and darkness descends. I live surrounded by beauty, But so often others fail to see, The depths of despair, That now are a part of me. I stare at the painting, Of my forefather's land, How I long to be there, And then just a short walk to the sand. I stare at the TV, Not really watching what is on, Stare at my son, And I pray to God he'll not feel this way. My stomach tightens again, The usual stressed symptoms, Even my body longing to be free, Of this subexistance forced upon me. All good things come to those who wait, Those true of heart, who never hate, So I sit or lie here passing the time, Realizing my life is only a mime...
