When I wake up
and the night
has dragged into the day,
I get up
and whipser to myself,
"it's all going to be okay"
But it's all in vain
for even as I speak
of love, hope, and happiness,
I can feel the darkness
slithering around inside me
A snake in search of my heart
to prey upon,
to consume whole
I fall to the floor
as it's venomous teeth
bite into my heart
I cry out
as I feel the burning,
the venom blending
with my blood that was once
so young
I beg and plead
for someone to help me
But my call is silent,
and never before had I heard
such a deafening noise

"The dark weight of the hour
humming madly
filling my head
with blood
and sorrow
and dread
the executioner's song."

DE,
I relate to the pain you feel.  Well expressed.  Sometimes silence can be deafening.

Wonderful work here!!  That silence we here, for me I find, every other sound is sooo loud too!!  Strange huh?  Apparantly not, we are all the same under the skin!!  Well done

Well done  DE I'm  one who longs for the silence and  then when I finally have a few minutes of silence hate the very sound because I can hear my mind screaming in the silence ...

Wow! You express your feelings vividly in this one, and it`s so dark and beautiful.

I cry out

These are the lines that left the strongest impression on me. I can almost see you, and it seems so familiar to me. Three cheers for you my friend.

Starr ~ I think for me it's more of a belonging, but I've come to appreciate the madness of family and friends. I still crave those blessed moments alone...at least then I can cry without worrying about people finding out. Hang in there...it'll be alright.

Avanti ~ Well I'm glad I got you thinking. I like it when poems do that or when they really hit home. But that's my personal opinion. Thank you (about the compliment on my nic)

Broken ~ I was hoping to be hearing from you on this...thank you...I'm glad that you liked it.

THANK YOU ALL VERY, VERY MUCH!

             Yours truly,

The words are very beautifully sculpted, describing exactly the feeling of the overwelming plague that a soul can recieve. I loved it.
